Odds and Ends - May 12

Do you recognize anyone?

Irv Dyck found this photo on his desk one morning when he came into the church and he didn't recognize anyone, so he asked me. I recognize Bishop Wright and Canon Large in the front row and my brother Bain Peever in the back row, but that's about it.

Get your magnifying glass out and see if you can spot someone you recognize. If you do, let us know.

Food Shelf

As always, Lynda Hughes sends out a big thank you to all the people who have so faithfully donated to the Food Shelf. Today there were 16 people who took advantage of the Food Shelf and picked up a bag of groceries. There is enough groceries in a bag to feed a person for a day and a bit. Food insecurity is a growing problem in the pandemic. The Food Shelf and Open Arms, which provides a warm, nutritious supper every Wednesday night for anywhere from 90 to 110 people are not only providing  food, but hope as well.

This week the Food Shelf would appreciate donations of  toilet paper, canned vegetables and powdered milk.

As usual, Irv Dyck was busy checking out the flyers for the best deals on these items.

Prayer Warriors

I am looking for two more prayer warriors who would be interested in praying for members of the congregation. The wonderful thing about praying is that it can be done anywhere and at any time. One of our prayer warriors prays to God while she is walking her dog. Please give me a call if you are interested or would like some more information.

Well, that's it for this week. If you would like to mention something in Odds and Ends just call or send me an email.

Stay safe my friends

Love and blessings,

Dawn
