Rev. Beth's Bi-Weekly Letter - 30 Oct

Friday October 30th

Dear Friends:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3: 5-6

Primates Message of Hope:  Archbishop Linda Nicholls has recorded a wonderful message for all of us. Click here to see and hear it!

Worship Services:  From the wardens and PAC members, thank you everyone for adjusting to the new COVID style of worshipping. It nearly feels normal!  We are entering and exiting in an orderly fashion, doing contact tracing, wearing masks, respecting our bubbles and we are together. Our humming is improving! We have been diligent in following the guidelines and we are healthy. Thank you, everyone. However, do remember to stay at home if you’re not feeling well and if it persists please let me know. Thanks and gratitude.

Sunday November 1st Worship Services: There are two services this Sunday on All Saints Day: our vibrant service at 10:30 am and the second service - A Service of Light - at 1:30 pm. At the Service of Light we remember our loved ones who have departed this life; the service will be reverent and joyful. Do come to light a candle for your loved one(s). Part of the service will be renaming the parish hall to the David Johnson Parish Hall.

Remembrance Sunday November 8th:  St. John’s will have a COVID -19 pandemic Remembrance service. Do come to honor our military service personnel, past and present.

Food Shelf: The number of folks using the Food Shelf is increasing.  You may have noticed in the news that a few more local businesses have closed.  Food Shelf/Food Banks will help with the gaps in peoples’ budgets.  What is needed this week is:

  • powdered milk
  • spaghetti sauce
  • canned vegetables
  • canned meat and fish.

Operation Shoebox:  The boxes are in! Available in the Narthex (lobby of the church). For more information check with Rob and Brandy DeBlois.

Hot Mama Salsa: Look for the order form in your bulletin. $5.00/jar.  It is delicious!

Apple Pies: Tasty apple pies from Christ Church. To order telephone 705-495-4659.

ENJOY……FALL BACK ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 31st. Turn clocks back one hour.

Until Sunday, stay well; know that you are blessed and loved by our compassionate God.

Your sister in Christ,

Beth+
