Rev. Beth's Weekly Letter - August 22

Dear Friends:

Reopening  Mark your calendars. It is planned, God willing, our first COVID 19 worship service will be  Sunday September 13.  Service time is 10:30am.  More details to follow.

With reopening, it is a good time to share a short and powerful video clip that Steve Kitzul submitted.  It puts into perspective pandemics and historical events of the past and how with an attitude of hope and joy we will learn to live in this new situation. Here is the link.

Bikes for Bibles  This Saturday, August 29th is the Bikes for Bible North Bay bike ride.  It is great fun and an easy route.  Check out the site for more details  There is still time to register for the  round trip ride from North Bay to Callander.   Do come to Lee Park and join in the fun! If you would like to sponsor some St. John’s riders, click here.

Evening Prayer Service  The 7:00pm Thursday evening Zoom congregation is a spirit filled gathering. There are three more services to take part in.  Our last service is September 10th.  Mark your calendar and look for your Zoom invitation.

Hot Mama Salsa  A group of Hot Mamas are making mild, medium and hot salsa for sale!  And they cannot keep it on the shelves.  You need to order ahead of time.  Carol Nesbit is managing the numerous orders. To order, phone the office at 705-472-6070 and leave your name, telephone number and number of jars of salsa you want.   The Hot Mamas will get back to you!

Moving Away Judy Brown a faithful parishioner of St. John’s is moving to Brantford to live with her son.  Judy has helped in Open Arms, the choir and has always enjoyed the St. John’s Men’s dinners.  Good wishes and blessings on the next part of your journey dear friend.  Your hearty laugh will be missed.

Prayers: Prayer Warriors are still praying for every member of the congregation until the end of September.  The warriors have said repeatedly how they are honored by the privilege of praying for the members of the congregation.  This week  pray for the parents, grandparents and young people of all ages as they prepare to return to school. And a special prayer request for Peter – Rev. Graham’s brother – who lives in France and has a number of medical issues.

Have a blessed week.
